Excerpt From 'Her Own World' (Published 2010)
 for Poetry Month

Desert's Throat

The Terra look quizzically at the slow moving
sky castles going upward to their positions
as they leave the Terra's view
Coughing is heard coming from the dirt
causing dust to blow into the air
The Terra looks into the Desert's Throat and sees
its white and beginning to crack
It's parched with nothing to refresh it,
It continues to crack with no moisture
to heal it,
Deep down where the Terra's eyes cannot see
is where the tongue begs to be quenched before
it splits in two
