For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans
for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then
you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29: 11-13
Life Question: When We Face Challenges, Is Attitude Everything??
I hope that this blog post find all of you well and blessed! I am sorry for my
prolonged absence, I was sick with sinus infection, insomnia and another
bout of sinus infection which doctors believe lead up to my condition I was born
with, hydrocephalus. For those of you out there who know what
I am talking about, or know someone who has it, it comes with some obstacles.
For those of you who have had shunt revisions, as I had on September 5th of
this month and was subsequently hospitalized for, this has been quite a challenge
for me.
As a child, I knew nothing of how exhausting it was to go through the surgeries, because I was so young then, I remembered nothing of the seizures I used to have
as a child. So when I experienced two grandmal seizures hours apart two days
after surgery as an adult, needless to say, I was scared. Before heading to the operating room, I requested prayer, after that, the surgeons led me off to surgery.
The team of surgeons who performed the procedure were among the best. They
gave me a second chance, but I don't believe that second chance would've been
possible if God hadn't sent that surgical team to me. One of the surgeons who came into my room to see me afterwords told me had I waited a day or two more,
my life would've been over.
Now that the procedure is over, the work begins for me once again. As an adult
having to recover from this who likes to go and do, it's been hard not to push
myself, it's been hard to just have to "take it slow and easy" as the doctors and surgeons have said. This is the part of the journey back to health that is the most
difficult for me. Jesus knows when we should charge ahead, and when we need to
pray and ask for his guidance. This is the fork in the road that I'm at with Jesus now.
As much as it pains me to admit it I HATE ASKING FOR HELP! It makes me feel weak
and useless.....but in every part of our lives Jesus is there to help us, nurture us, strengthen us, empower us and arm us with what we need to meet, and even exeed our challenges we face. So whatever challenges you out there are facing,
let's face them together by seeking the power of the Holy Spirit to fill and bring us
through whatever challenges we're facing!
Draw near to God and he will draw near to you!
Blessings,
Liz Ciccone
