Laminin

_

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your words are wonderful, I know that full well.

Psalm 139:13-14

About two weeks ago, while Pastor Strunk at our church was on vacation, Pastor Austin, a youth pastor with one of the Methodist churches in the Twin Cities, filled in for him. And he gave an interesting message about Laminin. Yes, you heard me right Laminin. I know you are asking the same thing I was asking as he preached about it....."What IS Laminin?"

Laminin is a protein, a cell adhesion molecule that is the rebar of the human body. It holds our skin on, keeps our organs together, it tells the various cells in our bodies what their job is!  Now why should we care about this cell adhesion molecule Laminin? What is the big deal? The big deal is, it's in the shape of the cross of Christ! When Pastor Austin told us this, I couldn't believe it. He turned on the computer and showed us on the screen what it looks like under a microscope. No kidding, it is in the shape of the cross! You can google the word Laminin and see for yourselves.

What does this tell us about God? It is the conformation to all of us that WE ARE HIS!

As it says in Jeremiah 1:5, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart. We are meant to be His ambassadors, His peacemakers, His vehicles to spread His Word.

How awesome is that! God has brought us into being to be light for the world He created, to be strength for each other.....in other words, the rebar that keeps us connected in Christ!   Blessings, Liz Ciccone
